Guided Cave Diving
(available in English, Spanish, Italian, French)

Of all the fascinating places in the world to dive, cavern and cave diving in the Riviera Maya is one amongst the best diving experiences.

The Riviera Maya is well known for its cenotes, a collection of caverns, open sink holes and caves where the fresh water sinks through the porous limestone and travels to the ocean in a network of underwater rivers.

During the ice ages, portions of the underground rivers dried up and water dripping through the limestone left mineral deposits in beautiful formations. Stalactites and stalagmites formed in the caves and caverns and were covered with water when the rivers began flowing once again.

Guided Cave Diving is opened to intro to full cave certified divers. Penetration in the cave system will depend upon your cave diver certification levels. The Riviera Maya offers hundreds of beautiful fresh water caves with a layer of salt water, highly decorated and with visibility well in excess of 150 feet/50mt. Our guides are highly trained and have to show continuous cave diving practice to be part of our team. They have all been living and cave diving in the area for at least a minimum of 2-3 years. Apart from being certified as Full Cave Diver, they need to be Open Water Instructor, Cavern Instructor and Adv. Nitrox or Technical Diver or Instructor.

We organize cave diving with groups of maximum 2 divers and a guide. Groups with more than 2 divers will be divided in smaller groups.

The cave systems in Yucatan and along the Riviera Maya (Playa del Carmen, P.to Aventuras, Akumal, Tulum) are large, relatively shallow and highly decorated with limestone formations. This means long bottom times, unlimited dive sites to explore, and beautiful dives. Our bottom time during our guided cave dives is based on the rule of thirds of air and not on a short 25-30 min in and out of the cave system.

Equipment rental, double tank rental, air fills, dive lights, nitrox mixes, lunch and drinks are not included but we will arranged them for you.

Staged cave dives, sidemount cave diving is also available: contact us for prices.

We speak English, Italian, French and Spanish.
